The session highlighted the necessity of <strong data-start=\"814\" data-end=\"846\">multi-sectoral collaboration<\/strong> among all executive bodies and relevant institutions to achieve the tobacco-free city initiative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"948\" data-end=\"1345\">At the beginning of the session, Governor <strong data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1008\">Hossein Abbasi<\/strong> underscored the importance of <strong data-start=\"1039\" data-end=\"1085\">public awareness and preventive strategies<\/strong> against tobacco use, emphasizing that reducing tobacco consumption requires strong inter-organizational cooperation and judicial support. He further stated that all governmental agencies must actively contribute to achieving the \u201cTobacco-Free Varamin\u201d goal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1347\" data-end=\"1742\">Following him, <strong data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1391\">Dr. Mohammad Reza Masjedi<\/strong>, Secretary-General of the Association, criticized the unrestricted import of tobacco products and noted: \u201cTobacco use is a major cause of cardiovascular diseases, cancers, and diabetes. According to the World Health Organization, over <strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1675\">85% of cardiovascular-related deaths in Iran<\/strong> are directly or indirectly associated with tobacco consumption.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1744\" data-end=\"2035\">In continuation, <strong data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"1781\">Dr. Torkmannejad<\/strong>, the Scientific Advisor of the Association, pointed to the growing prevalence of tobacco use, particularly among youth, and stressed the urgent need for <strong data-start=\"1935\" data-end=\"1977\">targeted planning and public education<\/strong> to control the increasing trend of tobacco consumption.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"2037\" data-end=\"2409\">At the conclusion of the meeting, <strong data-start=\"2071\" data-end=\"2093\">Hamidreza Shahsoon<\/strong>, Executive Secretary of the PAD Program, expressed appreciation for the efforts made in Varamin County and called for <strong data-start=\"2212\" data-end=\"2274\">enhanced intersectoral cooperation and stronger commitment<\/strong> from local authorities to effectively implement the strategies aimed at realizing the <strong data-start=\"2361\" data-end=\"2395\">\u201cVaramin, a Tobacco-Free City\u201d<\/strong> initiative.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2037\"
