{"id":12089,"date":"2026-01-06T12:41:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-06T09:11:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iata.org.ir\/?p=12089"},"modified":"2026-01-06T12:41:10","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T09:11:10","slug":"successful-global-campaigns-for-the-prevention-of-tobacco-use-among-children-and-adolescents-reviewed-at-the-second-session-of-the-tobacco-free-life-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iata.org.ir\/en\/news-en\/successful-global-campaigns-for-the-prevention-of-tobacco-use-among-children-and-adolescents-reviewed-at-the-second-session-of-the-tobacco-free-life-campaign\/","title":{"rendered":"Successful Global Campaigns for the Prevention of Tobacco Use Among Children and Adolescents Reviewed at the Second Session of the \u201cTobacco-Free Life\u201d Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"398\" data-end=\"961\">According to the Public Relations Office of the <em data-start=\"446\" data-end=\"459\">Association<\/em>, the session was attended by <strong data-start=\"489\" data-end=\"513\">Dr. Shahram Rafiifar<\/strong>, Director General of the Office of Health Education and Health Promotion; <strong data-start=\"588\" data-end=\"604\">Dr. Sarbandi<\/strong>, Head of the Health Education and Promotion Group; <strong data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"680\">Dr. Behzad Valizadeh<\/strong>, Head of the Secretariat of the National Tobacco Control Headquarters; <strong data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"772\">Engineer Hashemi<\/strong>, expert at the Secretariat; <strong data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"828\">Dr. Sharif Torkamanzhad<\/strong>, Scientific Advisor of the Association; and <strong data-start=\"873\" data-end=\"894\">Farideh Khodadadi<\/strong>, Head of Public Relations of the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"963\" data-end=\"1307\">During the meeting, <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1010\">Dr. Sharif Torkamanzhad<\/strong> presented a comparative study of successful global tobacco prevention campaigns, focusing on effective strategies for preventing tobacco use among <strong data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1206\">children and adolescents under the age of 18<\/strong>. He outlined the key characteristics, approaches, and achievements of these international campaigns.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1309\" data-end=\"1615\">Subsequently, participants discussed several related topics, including the <strong data-start=\"1384\" data-end=\"1448\">design of warning posters tailored for occupational settings<\/strong>, the presentation of <strong data-start=\"1470\" data-end=\"1505\">social media monitoring reports<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"1515\" data-end=\"1592\">findings of a monitoring study on domestic home entertainment productions<\/strong> depicting tobacco use.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1617\" data-end=\"2107\">Based on the resolutions of the session, it was decided that the <strong data-start=\"1682\" data-end=\"1724\">social media monitoring report in Iran<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"1783\">study on home entertainment content monitoring<\/strong>, conducted by the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association, would be shared with members of the working group. In addition, the presentation of the <strong data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"1963\">Icelandic and Stanford media models<\/strong> was scheduled for the next session, with the aim of selecting and developing localized media content and models adapted to national conditions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2109\" data-end=\"2319\">In another resolution, the responsibility for <strong data-start=\"2155\" data-end=\"2250\">designing warning signage posters prohibiting tobacco use in public and governmental places<\/strong> was assigned to the Office of Health Education and Health Promotion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2321\" data-end=\"2601\">It is noteworthy that the <strong data-start=\"2347\" data-end=\"2364\">first session<\/strong> of the <em data-start=\"2372\" data-end=\"2393\">\u201cTobacco-Free Life\u201d<\/em> campaign was held on <strong data-start=\"2415\" data-end=\"2444\">Tuesday, 23 December 2025<\/strong>, with the participation of representatives from the National Tobacco Control Headquarters, the Ministry of Health, and the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2603\" data-end=\"2641\">This series of meetings will
