A coordination meeting of supervisory bodies was held at the Varamin Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization (IMT) to follow up on the directive concerning the responsibilities and designation of authorized agents for tobacco product sales.
According to the Public Relations Office of Jam’iyat, quoting the Varamin IMT Office, the meeting aimed to review actions taken and finalize the mechanisms for appointing official sales agents. The session was attended by representatives from the Organization for Governmental Sanctions (Te’zirat-e Hokoomati), the Health Network, the Public Places Police (Police-e Amaken), and the heads of related trade unions.
As part of the follow-up plan, a field inspection program targeting retail outlets of tobacco products — particularly teahouses, cafés, and press kiosks located near educational and cultural centers — was scheduled. During these inspections, violating establishments were dealt with in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
In the continuation of the meeting, with the participation of the representatives of the relevant organizations and unions — including grocery, confectionery, and restaurant associations — discussions were held to coordinate actions, ensure regulatory compliance, and effectively implement the directive on the designation of authorized tobacco product sellers.
