On June 26th, 2019, a joint patrol including the representative of the Shemiranat Governor, experts and inspectors from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the representatives of Shemiranat guilds, environmental health experts at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, and the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association inspected a number of tobacco supply and distribution sites, supermarkets, and newspaper kiosks, and discovered some smuggled cigarettes and transferred them to the Administration of Industry and Trade in Shemiranat.
This measure was aimed at the following of the approvals of the Commission for the Planning, Coordination, and Monitoring of Combating Trafficking of Goods and Currencies in relation to the ongoing monitoring of tobacco supply.
