
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, a ceremony was held to honor the top principals, teachers, and student assistants (Pad-Yar) of the PAD Program (Prevention of Tobacco Use) in lower secondary schools of District 12, Tehran. The event took place at the Shahid Rajaei Cultural and Educational Center with the presence of Amir Asgari, Head of District 12 Education Department, Mohammad Taghi Einizadeh, Deputy for Student Affairs, a number of educators, and Dr. Sharif Torkaman-Nejad, Scientific Advisor to the Iranian Tobacco Control Society.
According to the Society’s Public Relations Office, during the event, the Head of District 12 Education Department visited the exhibition of selected student works and expressed appreciation for the efforts of school principals, teachers, and student assistants. He also called for the continuation of cultural activities aimed at tobacco prevention in schools.
Dr. Sharif Torkaman-Nejad emphasized the importance of the PAD initiative, highlighting its role in raising adolescents’ awareness of the health risks associated with tobacco use.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, distinguished principals, teachers, and student assistants were honored with certificates of appreciation and awards. On the sidelines of the program, officials toured the exhibition of students’ works, followed by the formal recognition of the top contributors.
