Anti-tobacco activities with the collaboration of religious centers

IATA’s board of trustees meeting held on September 6 with the participation of Dr. Mohammad Reza Masjedi, secretary-general, Hujjat-al-Islam Moein Shirazi, the chairman of the board, Hujjat-al-Islam Mostafa Morsali, Dr. Safa-aldin Tabaraeian, Mr. Mahmood Lolachian, Mr. Vali-allah Chahpoor, Dr. Gholamali Afrooz, members of the board and other participants.

At the beginning of the meeting, a short memorial ceremony was held for the members who passed away since the previous meeting. Next, the secretary-general commemorates the Muharram days and emphasized that it’s a great opportunity to perform anti-smoking activities through these spontaneous mourning ceremonies; Those who have access to any tribune, besides their routine speeches can also talk about the harmful effects of smoking and its consequences for the public audience. Therefore religious missionaries could play an effective role in for decreasing the social harms through their public tribunes, as they always do.

Then he presented the annual activity report to the board of trustees and asked for the cooperation and support of the members for further advancing the goals of health development and fight against smoking in the society.
