
In a strategic meeting held on July 7, officials from the Health Affairs Department of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration for the implementation of the joint project “Tobacco-Free Generation.” The initiative specifically targets the health network infrastructure and the engagement of volunteer health workers.
The session, attended by Dr. Seyed Saeed Hashemi Nazari (Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs), Dr. Nematollah Mohammadinia (Deputy for Technical Affairs), Dr. Vali (Head of Environmental and Occupational Health Group), Dr. Mohammad Reza Masjedi (Secretary-General of the Association), and Dr. Sharif Torkaman Nejad (Scientific Advisor), highlighted the need for expanded joint actions through community-based health systems.
The meeting concluded with a token of appreciation presented by Dr. Masjedi to Dr. Hashemi in recognition of his contributions to public health, underscoring the symbolic and strategic importance of collaborative work in advancing a tobacco-free future.
