Tobacco Control Research Center Ranks Fifth in 2024 Evaluation of Iranian Medical Universities’ Research Centers

The results of the 2024 ranking of government and non-government research centers, conducted by Iran University of Medical Sciences, have been announced.

According to the Office of Public Relations of the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association, the Tobacco Control Research Center achieved fifth place among research centers affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences and 15th place among 34 non-governmental research centers nationwide.

The evaluation recognized the Center’s continuous research activities, publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles, organization of specialized conferences, and intersectoral collaborations as key factors contributing to its high ranking. Among nine research centers affiliated with Iran University of Medical Sciences, the Tobacco Control Research Center distinguished itself through sustained scholarly productivity and its impactful contributions to tobacco control research.

This achievement underscores the Center’s commitment to advancing evidence-based tobacco control policies and fostering collaborative research to improve public health in Iran.
