IATA’s Public Health Intervention at Sadeghieh Metro Station: Execution of an Educational Program by “Nafas-e-Pak” Instructors

Conducted on the Second Day of National No Tobacco Week

Coinciding with the second day of “National No Tobacco Week,” the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association (IATA), in strategic collaboration with the Tehran Metro Operation Company, implemented an educational and awareness-raising intervention for commuters at the Sadeghieh Metro Station.

According to the IATA Public Relations Department, this initiative was executed on Tuesday, Khordad $5$, of the current year. It was conducted with the active participation of instructors from the “Nafas-e-Pak Faramouz” Center and facilitated by the collaborative efforts of the management and personnel of Metro Line $5$ stations.

During this intervention, the instructors from the “Nafas-e-Pak Faramouz” Center utilized puppetry as an engaging pedagogical tool. While striving to maximize commuter engagement with the critical imperative of tobacco control, they comprehensively elucidated the detrimental health impacts of tobacco consumption across various demographic groups, with a particular emphasis on pediatric populations and their parents.

This public health deployment at the Sadeghieh Metro Station constitutes a core component of the Iranian Anti-Tobacco Association’s broader strategic initiatives. These ongoing programs are specifically designed to elevate public health literacy, curb tobacco consumption, and systematically mitigate the environmental hazard of cigarette butt littering within urban transit infrastructures.
