On Monday, 29 December 2025, the “Tobacco-Free City” training workshop was held at the Pishva Health and Treatment Network, with the aim of enhancing awareness and strengthening the capacity of health-sector personnel. The workshop was attended by managers and healthcare staff and took place in the conference hall of the Pishva Health Network.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Association, Dr. Gholami, Director of the Pishva Health and Treatment Network, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of implementing effective tobacco control and prevention programs at the community level. He highlighted the pivotal role of healthcare workers in institutionalizing the culture of a “tobacco-free city” and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Subsequently, Dr. Torkamanzhad, serving as the workshop instructor, delivered specialized lectures on the health hazards of tobacco use, its individual and social consequences, evidence-based smoking cessation strategies, and the critical role of healthcare professionals in achieving the objectives of the National Tobacco Control Program.
The workshop was conducted within the framework of national efforts to control and reduce tobacco consumption, with a focus on improving professional knowledge and empowering health-sector staff. At the conclusion of the session, participants raised questions and shared their perspectives, which were addressed by the workshop instructor.
